The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) put aside their differences and stood side by side in prayer as Muslims in Oyo State marked Eid-el-Kabir on Friday.

The Agodi Eid prayer ground in Ibadan became a melting pot of camaraderie as top politicians exchanged handshakes, hugs, and warm wishes, momentarily forgetting the fierce battles of the political arena.

Among the prominent figures were Oyo State Deputy Governor Adebayo Lawal, Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, and former Senate leader Teslim Folarin. Former deputy governors Hazeem Gbolarumi and Taofeek Arapaja also joined the gathering, alongside Senator Kola Balogun, Abass Adigun, and Saheed Oladele.

The Otun-Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, led a delegation of traditional rulers and Mogajis to the prayer ground, adding royal grace to the occasion.

In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiy Abubakry, called for unity, patience, and tolerance among Nigerians, regardless of political or ethnic divides.

"This is the only country we can call our own," he reminded the congregation. "No matter our differences, we must work together for peace and progress."

The atmosphere at the prayer ground reflected the true spirit of Eid—forgiveness, brotherhood, and hope for a better Nigeria.
