Israel has temporarily shut down all its embassies and consulates worldwide amid ongoing military operations in Iran, the Foreign Ministry announced Friday. The unprecedented move leaves Israeli citizens abroad without consular services until further notice.
The ministry urged citizens abroad to immediately update their location via an online form. Those needing emergency help were directed to contact the ministry’s 24/7 situation room.
Officials also issued a stark warning: Avoid displaying Israeli symbols in public, Do NOT post travel plans on social media, and Steer clear of large pro-Israel gatherings.
The closures follow Israel’s large-scale attack on Iranian military targets, including nuclear facilities. Iranian state media reported the deaths of top commanders, including Armed Forces Chief Mohammad Bagheri and IRGC leader Hossein Salami.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei vowed revenge, declaring Israel had "prepared a bitter fate for itself." The escalating conflict raises fears of a wider regional war.
