The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has extended heartfelt Eid Kabir greetings to the Muslim community, celebrating the values of sacrifice, love, and kindness that unite all faiths.
Archbishop Daniel Okoh, CAN President, shared the message in Abuja on Friday, marking the 2025 Eid Kabir festivities. He emphasized the shared inspiration from Prophet Ibrahim’s faith and urged Nigerians to stand together in compassion.
The celebration, however, was tinged with sorrow as Archbishop Okoh expressed solidarity with victims of the recent Mokwa flood disaster in Niger State, which claimed lives and displaced many.
"Our prayers are with those affected," he said. "We encourage Christians nationwide to support relief efforts through donations, supplies, and prayers."*
CAN pledged to work with government agencies and volunteers to bring aid to impacted families, reinforcing resilience in the face of adversity.
Archbishop Okoh highlighted Nigeria’s diverse strength, stating, "When we celebrate together, we prove unity triumphs over division. Let’s build a stronger nation through shared values."
