In anticipation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s one-day visit, the Benue State Government has declared Wednesday a work-free day for civil servants.
The announcement was made in an official statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Deborah Aber, on Tuesday in Makurdi.
“This holiday is in honor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, who is visiting Benue to commiserate with the government and people over the state’s persistent security challenges,” Aber stated.
She clarified that “workers in essential services including health workers, security agencies, and banks are exempted from the holiday.”
Aber also called on “all Benue residents to come out in large numbers to warmly receive the President and his delegation.”
The visit underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing Benue’s security concerns while fostering unity between the presidency and the state.
