The Media Office of Atiku Abubakar has strongly condemned the shocking allegations of abduction, assault, and bribery involving Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, as raised by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Isah.

In a scathing statement signed by Paul Ibe on Friday, Atiku’s office described the claims as a dangerous assault on democracy, warning that Nigeria is “not a monarchy to be inherited by one family.”

On Wednesday, Isah narrated how Seyi Tinubu allegedly masterminded his abduction, brutalization, and a N100 million bribe offer to manipulate his political stance in favor of President Tinubu.

“I was abducted on April 15, stripped naked, and beaten severely in collaboration with the MD of NTA,”* Isah revealed. “They forced me to renounce my position as NANS president under duress. I only escaped after making a false statement, but I later exposed their threats.”

Reacting via Instagram, Seyi Tinubu dismissed the claims, stating:  “I have never met Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else. These accusations are false and defamatory.”

However, Atiku’s office insists the allegations demand urgent investigation, warning of a “disturbing trend of state-backed intimidation.”

Paul Ibe accused Seyi Tinubu of “buying political loyalty through coercion and violence” and called on President Tinubu to rein in his family.

“This is not a monarchy. The presidency is a sacred trust, not a private inheritance,” the statement read. *“If these allegations are true, it reflects a dangerous abuse of power.”

The office also debunked claims of a political alliance between Atiku and Isah, clarifying that their discussions focused solely on education reform and student welfare.

Atiku’s media team issued a stern warning: “Any harm to Comrade Isah will not go unchallenged. Nigerians deserve truth, not a regime that silences dissent with force.”

The statement called for an independent probe into the alleged abduction, stressing that democracy cannot thrive under intimidation.
