Mautin Ajulo and Suru Avoseh |
Hon. Mautin Ajulo has vehemently denied reports claiming he has stepped down or endorsed Hon. H.S. Avoseh for the Badagry Local Government Chairmanship race, dismissing the claims as "false and politically motivated."
The rebuttal comes after Hon. Olanrewaju Layode allegedly announced during a rally on Thursday that Ajulo and other aspirants had thrown their support behind Avoseh under the ICC political movement.
In a strongly worded statement, Hon. Ajulo distanced himself from the claims, stating:
"It has come to our attention that some individuals are falsely claiming that I have joined the ICC political movement and endorsed their candidate, Hon. H.S. Avoseh. This is FALSE and should be disregarded."
He clarified that while he recently withdrew from the Chairmanship race in the interest of party unity, he has not declared support for any aspirant.
"I remain committed to the progress of our party and community. If and when I choose to endorse any candidate, I will make such a decision public at the appropriate time," he added.
Hon. Ajulo urged supporters and the general public to disregard what he termed "falsehoods and political mischief," emphasizing that any official statement regarding his political stance would come directly from him.
Party Unity vs. False Claims: Ajulo’s withdrawal was seen as a move to foster harmony, but fake endorsements threaten to destabilize the process.
Transparency in Politics: The incident highlights the need for verified information in political campaigns.
What’s Next? Will other aspirants clarify their positions, or will more misinformation spread?
