13 Badagry West LCDA Delegates Reject APC Primary Results, Threaten Chaos Over 'Stolen Mandate'

 By: Manoah Kikekon

Tension is brewing in Badagry West LCDA as 13 aggrieved All Progressives Congress (APC) delegates have outrightly rejected the results of the party’s primary election held on Saturday, May 10, at ACME, Ikeja.

The delegates are demanding the reinstatement of their votes for Princess Oluremi Nutayi Ajose, warning of potential chaos and political repercussions that could affect President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid in Badagry if their grievances are not addressed.

In a fiery press conference held on Sunday in Badagry West, the 13 delegates, led by party secretary Mr. Hodonu John, claimed they unanimously voted for Princess Ajose but were shocked to see a different result circulating on social media.

"We took an oath to vote for Princess Oluremi Nutayi Ajose. All 13 of us voted for her, but the announced result does not reflect our votes. How can the party secretary betray us? How can our votes not count in a democracy?" John lamented.

The delegates further alleged that agents representing their aspirant were barred from observing the vote-counting process, raising suspicions of foul play.

Adeoluwayemi Agoro, an apex leader of the APC in Badagry West LCDA, confirmed the division within the party, stating that two factions the Bamgbose group and his own Agoro group had clashed over the primary’s credibility.

"I have 13 delegates who went to vote, and they all stood by Princess Ajose. If their mandate is not returned, there will be chaos in Badagry West, and this will affect Tinubu’s support in 2027," Agoro declared.

Kuakanu Senayon, the LGA Women Leader, and Gbose Sunday, the Assistant Youth Leader, also voiced their frustrations, insisting that their votes for Princess Ajose were disregarded.

"I voted for Oluremi, and my vote did not count. We demand justice!" Senayon stated.

Sunday added, "It pains me that our choice was overturned. This mandate must be returned to Princess Oluremi, or there will be consequences."

The aggrieved delegates have appealed directly to President Bola Tinubu and Lagos APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi to intervene and rectify what they describe as a "stolen mandate."

"We are loyal APC members, but if our voices are ignored, Badagry West will not remain silent. This injustice must be corrected," Hodonu John warned.

Analysts suggest that if the crisis is not resolved amicably, it could lead to a significant loss of support for the APC in Badagry, a key Lagos stronghold. With President Tinubu’s re-election bid looming, party leaders may need to act swiftly to prevent further division.
