Alapa and Princess Oluremi Nutayi |
Princess Oluremi Fumilola Nutayi Ajose, chairmanship aspirant for Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has taken a significant step in her campaign with a strategic visit to the Alapa of Apa Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Adekanmi Oyinloye.
The meeting, held on Saturday at the royal palace in Apa, Badagry, brought together traditional leaders, political stakeholders, and community representatives to discuss Princess Oluremi’s vision for equitable development in the council area.
Hon. Peter Atindekun, who formally introduced the aspirant, praised Princess Oluremi’s humility, track record in human development, and her reform-driven manifesto. He emphasized her suitability for the role, citing her commitment to uplifting women and marginalized groups.
Princess Oluremi highlighted the need for political balance in Badagry West LCDA, noting that while Wards A, B, and D have previously produced chairmen, Wards C and E remain underrepresented. “It is time for Ward C to produce the next chairman, and with a competent woman like me, we can bring fresh perspectives to governance,” she asserted.
The Alapa of Apa Kingdom endorsed Princess Oluremi’s aspiration, urging the Baales and chiefs in council to rally behind her. “She is my daughter, and I trust she will uphold good character while supporting the traditional institution in her administration,” the monarch declared.
Chief Gbemenu, Baale of Agonrin and Chairman of the Baales in Council of Apa Kingdom, also pledged full support, reinforcing the community’s confidence in her leadership.
Hon. Ade Agoro, Badagry West APC apex leader, called for unity among traditional rulers to ensure peaceful and inclusive governance. “We must support fairness and give underrepresented wards a voice,” he stated.
Other notable attendees included Hon. Rabiu Ayodele, Hon. Joshua Aihongbe, and Hon. Senayon Kuwakanu, the APC Women Leader in Badagry West.
In her closing remarks, Princess Oluremi expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and vowed to restore public trust in governance. “If elected, my administration will operate an open-door policy, ensuring no citizen is left behind,” she assured.
The event concluded with traditional prayers and a vote of thanks by Hon. Segun Abayomi Oke, cementing a united front for her candidacy.
A graduate of Political Science from the University of Uyo (2009) and holder of a Master’s in Public Administration from LAUTECH (2017), Princess Oluremi combines academic excellence with grassroots advocacy, positioning her as a transformative candidate for Badagry West LCDA.
