Ex-Police Officer Alleged of Killing Three in Badagry Commits Suicide

Charles Atideka, a dismissed police officer accused of killing three people in Badagry, Lagos, reportedly committed suicide by poisoning himself on Wednesday. 

Relatives rushed him to Badagry General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.  

Security agencies had declared Atideka wanted following the alleged murders and launched a manhunt on Wednesday.

A source told News Peddlers via phone: "I was at the police station when the report came in that Charles, whom the police had been searching for, had taken his own life." 

Another insider revealed that Atideka poisoned himself after realizing the community was aware of his crime. Despite efforts by family members to save him, he succumbed at the hospital.  

Authorities have yet to officially confirm the incident, as repeated attempts to reach the Badagry Police Division for comment were unsuccessful.
