Badagry West Youths Unite for Peaceful Chairmanship Race

Comr. Sunday Aladeotan, Convener of Gbenu Youth Movement, has called on Badagry youths to reject political violence and instead adopt ideological campaigns ahead of the 2025 Local Government elections in Lagos State.
Speaking at the launch of the Badagry West LCDA Foot Soldiers, a group mobilizing support for chairmanship aspirant Hon. Ibrahim Yemaren Rikay, Aladeotan emphasized the need for healthy political competition without hostility.
Aladeotan urged young supporters to avoid political thuggery, bullying, and criminality, stating: "We don’t need to antagonize anyone. My best friend or partner may support another candidate, but we remain united under APC. At the end, we’ll all vote for one candidate—without violence."
Hon. Ibrahim Yemaren Rikay, the APC chairmanship hopeful, echoed the call for unity, stressing that Badagry’s progress depends on collaboration.
"We must harmonize as stakeholders. If we unite, Badagry West will develop for our youths, children, and families. Fighting will only set us back."
He pledged to prioritize party interests over personal ambitions, vowing to work towards a better Badagry West if elected.
Mrs. Agnes Zosu, a participant at the event, expressed strong backing for Rikay, describing him as:
"A seasoned politician with good character—a giver who supports women and the party. If you’re not close to him, you won’t know his true nature."
Youths encouraged to campaign peacefully with ideas, not violence. Rikay seeks unity to drive development in Badagry West. APC supporters urged to prioritize party cohesion over infighting.
As the 2025 elections approach, Badagry’s political landscape is shifting toward **issue-based politics, setting a new standard for grassroots engagement in Lagos State.
