Rtr. Balogun Raheemat Omitogun has been installed as the 15th President of the Rotaract Club of Ajara, Badagry, Lagos State.
The installation was held on Sunday at Ajara town hall, Badagry Lagos State.
In his address, Rotr. Bashir Mustapha, the Investiture Chair, said, "Today, we gather to celebrate a new chapter in our Rotaract journey, as we install a new leader who will guide us towards even greater heights." He gave gratitude for the tireless efforts and the Commitment of all club members.
Raheemat, in her address, said, "I am honored to lead this team of dedicated and passionate individuals who share a common goal of serving our community. As we begin this new journey together, I want to emphasize the importance of our role as Rotaractors in this community. We are not just a club, we are a catalyst for positive change, as our nickname says The Pacesetters, who are committed to making a difference in the lives of those around us.
"During my tenure as President, I plan to focus on several key projects that will have a significant impact on our community. First, we will be launching a literacy program aimed at improving the reading culture of children in our local Schools. This program will not only provide educational support but also instil a love of reading in these young minds.
"Second, we will be initiating a community health initiative that will provide free health screening and education to residents of Badagry and its environment. This project will help identify and address health issues early on, improving the overall well-being of our community. Third, we will be establishing a vocational training program for young adults in our community via AGRICULTURE. This program will equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to secure employment and become self-sufficient. These projects are crucial to the development and growth of our community.
"They will not only improve the lives of individuals but also contribute to the overall betterment of our society. lurge each and every one of you to join me on this journey. Let us work together to make a positive impact on our community. Let us show the world what it means to be a part of the Rotary family."
Rtr. Israel Danton, Immediate Past President said "Our new leader brings a fresh perspective, new energy, and a deep commitment to our mission. To our incoming president, I offer these parting words of wisdom: stay true to our values, listen to our members, and never be afraid to dream big."
Rotaract is an international program for adults youth aged between 18 to 30 years who want to make positive difference. It was founded in 1968 by Rotary International- an association of clubs made up of service-minded, business and professional leaders.
Today, there are more than 7,300 Rotary Clubs sponsoring Rotaract Clubs of over 170 000 members known as Rotaractors in over 150 countries.
Rotaract is known to build strong personalities with her effective programs; towards this end, clubs organize communications and public speaking seminars, training for members and friends, workshops to organize and promote projects, information sessions about Rotary/Rotaract. To help their members, make informed choices, Rotaract Clubs holds marketing and management seminars, conferences on business ethics, vocational and career planning, counselling, and business technology updates. Whatever they do, Rotaractors know how to have fun and make the world a little better in the process.
