Professor Samuel Oladipo Kolawole has been named the new director and chief executive officer of the Nigeria French Language Village (NFLV), located in Ajara-Badagry Lagos State.
On Thursday, February 6, 2025, the institution's governing council made the announcement after a selection process that included several applicants.
Alhaji Labiru Musa Kafur, mni, the chairman of the governing council, stated that the procedure was carried out in an impartial and transparent way. He said, "After the selection process, the interview was done yesterday with four candidates, with Prof. Kolawole scoring the highest point," as he handed out the appointment letter. He went on to say that the organisation anticipated his guidance in furthering its objectives.
The Director, Prof. Kolawole, said, "I thank God for making this long-term dream a reality," expressing gratitude for the chance.
He expressed gratitude for the governing council's efforts to maintain standards and guarantee a reliable selection. "I appreciate that you trusted me, and the process was thorough. I will work with the council and the entire organisation to achieve the goals," he said.
"This year marks my 35th year of service in tertiary education," he added, reflecting on his educational career. He acknowledged that the process was intensely contested and expressed gratitude for being chosen. "I recognise the responsibilities that come with this position, and I am committed to making meaningful contributions," he said.
