Oyediji Michael and Beneficiaries |
Mr. Oyediji Michael, the CEO Oyediji Foundation, has supported 1000 widows in Badagry with cash donations.
This was held on Saturday at the ECOWAS Assembly, Lopo, Badagry, Lagos State.
Oyediji said this has been his dream since he was a small boy as he has always wished to support the people.
"I have wished to be a philanthropist since I was very small; by the time I started doing this, I now discovered I'm already a philanthropist.
"We have been doing this for some time, where we support people with disabilities and widows in the churches and mosques, which is done every Sunday and Friday. Now that it's public, it has become what we will be doing, quality or two times a year.
"Each year I give out over 7 million to widows in churches because we distribute 5000 to thirty widows every Sunday, and the same thing in mosques every Friday," he said.
Mrs. Olufunke Ogunfiyin, a beneficiary, said, "this is not new to me because Mr. Oyediji has been doing a lot before this period. I know he has gone to churches and mosques; I pray God replenish his pocket and the beneficiaries to make sure they make good use of the money."
Mrs. Akeredolu Florence, a beneficiary, said, :We are happy that they called us here to help us; this is because they've seen the widows are going through, and I'm very happy for this, and they will never lack in their life. Because this is not easy, especially those that still have young kids."
Evangelist Joseph Gangbe JP, the minister at the event, said "he, (Oyediji), has been doing this before now in the churches and has been telling me not to announce him, but I have insisted that I can't take his glory and that he needs to come out to let the beneficiaries know who has been supporting them, and he agreed, and that's why we are here today."
Mr. Akeem Bankole, a member of the ECOWAS Assembly who also shared over 200 notebooks for LA Primary School students at Ajara, Badagry, said all members of the group are only doing what they can to give back to society.
