Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Lagos State commissioner for youth and social development, on Monday visited Don Maserati Classic Boutique Lagos Island, where a yet to be identified lady was brutally beaten, molested, and stripped off her clothes.
The incident occurred on Friday at the Lagos plaza, It’s reported that the owner of the boutique is responsible for this horrific abuse.
Ogunlende, on Monday afternoon, said on his official X handle, "I, along with the rescue team from the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, in collaboration with the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS), took swift action to visit a boutique on Broad Street, Lagos Island, in response to a video showing the abuse of a young lady, ensuring that justice is served.
He said his move aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's agenda for promoting gender equality.
"This effort aligns with the Governor's agenda of promoting gender equality and leaving no one behind. The team's prompt response underscores the government's commitment to upholding the rights of all individuals, particularly vulnerable groups, and ensuring access to justice and equal opportunities for all."
Ogunlende advised Lagos residents to speak out whenever they see any form of injustice.
