Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University, Prof Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, says the university is committed to enhancing its facilities, to ensure a conducive learning environment and foster academic excellence.
She spoke during the students’ orientation programme of LASU School of Basic and Advanced Studies (LASUSBAB) Programme, at the campus in Badagry, Lagos.
The VC said: ‘’Some of these interventions are aimed at boosting the morale of workers to give their best and provide an atmosphere that supports students’ success.’’
She added that the institution has Zero tolerant for all forms of abuse.
"We have Zero tolerant for sexual abuse and drug abuse make sure you're of good behaviour your character is very important don't socum to peer pressure," she added
Director, LASUSBAB, Prof Yunus Dauda, said the school was established in 2016 to give opportunity to students seeking admission to 200 levels in all the faculties after successful completion of one year extensive programme.
"Despite their success, many of our students were denied admission to some universities, but our vice chancellor's magnanimity and determination to care for the young allowed us to admit more than 80% of the students who passed their JUPEB examination.
"We must commend the Vice-Chancellor's efforts, particularly in promoting all categories of employees, and many buildings have been renovated and constructed to encourage lecturing and enhance learning," he said.
Mr Olusegun Onilude, Chairman of Badagry Local Government, urged students to focus on their studies and avoid drugs and cultism.
Chief Anthony Oloyede, the Ovihenton of Badagry Kingdom, spoke on behalf of Akran of Badagry, Aholu Menu Toyi 1, and encouraged the students to focus on their education in order to become future leaders.
