Badagry-born Ashade Abdulsalam emerges as best graduating student of accounting

Mr. Ashade Abdulsalam Abiodun, a Badagry citizen and the chief executive officer (CEO) of Green Janitors Sustainable Initiatives, has emerged as the best graduating student at the Nigerian College of Accountancy (NCA), the postgraduate professional college and training arm of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN). 


At its 11th Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, 25th January 2025. The event, held at the NCA campus in Kwall, near Jos, Plateau State, honoured the graduates from Courses 29 and 30 for their outstanding academic and professional achievements.


Ashade received the title of Best Graduating Student for the academic year 2022–2023. He was recognised as one of the most exceptional graduates of the esteemed institution due to his outstanding performance.


Beginning with a lecture on Friday, January 24, 2025, the convocation program's main focus was "The Impact of Government Policies on Economic Development in Nigeria: Challenges and Sustainability." The talk established the framework for conversations about how important government programs are in determining the direction of the country's economy.


Dignitaries, professors, graduates, and visitors who came to honour academic achievement and professional growth graced the ceremony. Dr. Kayode O. Fasua, FNCA, CEO of ANAN, and Dr. Friday A. Akpan, FNCA, Director-General of NCA, presented certificates and awards to the deserving graduates.


Ashade Abdulsalam is the chairmanship aspirant in Olorunda LCDA of Badagry Local Government, under All Progressive Congress (APC), in the coming 2025 chairmanship election. He has been a climate change advocate, clean water and sanitation advocate, and a Mandela Washington fellow.
