Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, has said Oando played a major role in making him an industrial leader.
He disclosed this at the celebration of Oando's 30th years anniversary on Thursday alongside business executives and former coworkers.
According to Mr. Ogunlende, the occasion was a very personal one because it commemorated more than ten years of his career-shaping work experience at the organization.
Speaking back on his tenure at Oando, Mr. Ogunlende characterized the organization as a testing ground for fortitude, creativity, and career advancement. . "Oando is not just a workplace; it’s a platform that molds individuals into industry leaders," he said.

"Your visionary leadership and groundbreaking contributions have left an indelible mark on the energy sector and on all of us privileged to have worked under your guidance," he said.
Additionally, Mr. Ogunlende was grateful to Mr. Dimeji Edwards, who helped him get a job at Oando Trading and taught him the ins and outs of oil trading.
"Mr. Edwards’ mentorship was a turning point in my career. His expertise and guidance provided me with invaluable skills that remain critical in my professional endeavors," Mr. Ogunlende said.
With a focus on character, resilience, and adaptability, the commissioner emphasized Oando's role in nurturing exceptional talent.
"Alumni of Oando are known for their strong work ethic and determination, qualities that have equipped them to excel in diverse fields," he noted.
Mr. Ogunlende gave the organization credit for fostering these principles, which still shape his leadership and service style.
"This celebration is not just about the past; it’s about the future we continue to build, inspired by the legacy of excellence Oando represents," he concluded.
