ATPN National Vice-President Apata appoints Travel expert Alaketu as general secretary

Alaketu Sulaimon and Apata Samson Nunayon 


Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon, the National Vice President of the South West Region for Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), has appointed Alaketu Sulaimon Abiodun, a Lagos-based travel and tourism expert, as the general secretary.


This was made known to journalists on Friday, December 6, 2024, by Manoah Nunayon Kikekon, the personal media aide to Apata.


Alaketu is an accountant by profession and travel and tours manager by passion. Founder/CEO of Atlantic Palm Travels and Tours Ltd (APTTNG), a travel management consulting company registered with the corporate affairs commission dated 29th June 2019.


As the organisation begins this new administration. Alaketu's appointment marks not only a shift in leadership but also a bold step towards a brighter, more inclusive future for tourism in South West Region of Nigeria. 


This strategic appointment demonstrates Apata's dedication to promoting sustainable tourism growth and using professional knowledge to advance the travel and tourism sector in the South West. 


Alaketu brings to the role a wealth of experience in tourism planning, destination management, and community engagement. Over the years, he has played pivotal roles in various tourism initiatives, advocating for cultural preservation and eco-tourism development across Nigeria. His dedication to the sector aligns perfectly with ATPAN's mission of promoting African tourism through collaboration, capacity building, and innovative strategies.
