Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon, the National Vice-President Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), covering the South West geopolitical zone of Nigeria, has appointed Manoah Nunayon Kikekon, a seasoned journalist from Badagry, Lagos State, as his personal media aid.
This was announced on Sunday in his appreciation message made available to journalists after his emergence.
Apata appreciated the members of ATPN National and Lagos State chapter for the support given to him while he was the chairman of ATPN Lagos State chapter. "I am honored to have been elected as the National Vice President, South West Region," he said.
He further said, "I extend my sincerest gratitude to the delegates who attended the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections in Abuja for their presence and participation. Your contributions were invaluable, and I'm honored to have had the opportunity to engage with each and every one of you."
According to Apata, he is appointing Manoah Kikekon as his personal media aid so that he can function efficiently in his role as ATPN National Vice President.
"To further strengthen my assignment as the National Vice President covering South West Region, I'm glad to announce tonighpt Mr. Manoah Kikekon as my PMA- Personal Media Aide to the National Vice President, South West Region."
Manoah told journalists in an interview that "I never saw this coming at all. Hon. Apata is my brother and now my boss, who I knew to be a visionary man as far back as 2017 while he was the supervisor for tourism in Badagry Local Government. He reformed Badagry tourism as of then with various initiatives that gave Badagry a leading place in Lagos tourism.
"I so much believe that Apata will change the narratives about tourism in south-west Nigeria, and being the tourist hub of the nation, I call this time a period of revival of tourism in the South-Western region of Nigeria.
"I want to appreciate Hon. Apata for finding me worthy to occupy this office. I am assuring him and all members of ATPN South West that tourism in the region will wear a new look under this administration."
Established in 1990, the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) is a professional, voluntary trade association led by its members whose main objective is to promote both domestic and international travel to Nigeria.
Nigeria's South-West geopolitical zone consists of six (6) states: Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Ekiti, Lagos, and Ogun, with one hundred and thirty-seven (137) Local Government Areas.
Tourist attractions sites in Lagos State are Badagry Slave Route and museums, first-story building, Leki conservation centre, National Museum of Nigeria, Lagos Bar Beach, Nike Art Gallery, and Tarkwa Bay Beach.
Tourist attractions in Ogun State are The Ake Arts and Book Festival, Centenary Hall, Bilikisu Sungbo Tourist Complex, The 2nd-Storey Building in Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Olumo Rock.
Tourist attractions in Ondo State are Deji of Akure Palace, Idanre Hills, Cave of Ashes, Igbokoda Waterfront, Igbo Olodumare, Ebomi Lake Tourist Centre, and Owo Museum of Antiques.
