Hon. Apata Samson, the chairman of the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), has asked Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Governor, what his vision is for John Randle Cultural Centre's role in Regional Tourism and Heritage Development

This was asked at the centre's launch, attended by industry leaders and stakeholders, where Lagos' rich cultural heritage was showcased.

ATPN Lagos Chapter has commended the Lagos State Government for the official unveiling of the John Randle Cultural Centre.

ATPN Lagos Chapter Chairman, CEO, Eko Destination Ltd., and initiator of the long awaited Destination Lagos Awards 2024, Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon, praised the initiative by Mr. Governor.

During the Questions and Answers session, Apata asked Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu about the centre's role in regional cultural tourism development.

"As the chairman of the southwest governors forum, how do you envisage John Randle Cultural Centre contributing to the region's cultural tourism development, and what initiative will you champion to ensure its impact resonates across the six southwest states, promoting unity and economic growth?"

In response, the governor said, "We have opened it up for everybody; you'll also see that things we have there are not localised things.

"Look at it; you'll see Obatala, Shongo, and many others. We have opened this place for the entire Yoruba culture that chains all southwest states together, and that's why I'm using this opportunity to say we have opened this place for Yoruba culture access and communication is open to everyone. All my brothers in the other part of Southwest will get this information too," Sanwo-Olu said.
