The Lagos State Government, in collaboration with. GFA Technologies through the Ministry of Youths and Social Development under the control of Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, launched the Lagos State Upskill Program LAG-UP.
This was announced on Monday by the commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende.
The Lagos State Upskill Programme (LAG-UP). Kicking off with a workshop, this initiative targets barbers, beauticians, and cosmetologists, equipping them with essential digital skills to modernize their businesses.
In collaboration with GFA Technologies, participants will receive free customized websites, digital business training, and insights into business growth. The program also offers digital literacy and networking opportunities with industry leaders, helping these professionals thrive in a tech-driven economy.
Hon. Ogunlende said, "As a government, we remain committed to empowering our youths, both formally and informally, to drive growth, skill acquisition, and curb unemployment in the state."
This program aligns with the Ministry’s commitment to youth empowerment and social development, ensuring that Lagos artisans can compete in today’s evolving digital landscape. It also supports Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ agenda, prioritizing economic growth and innovation across the state.
Through the LAG-UP initiative, the Lagos State Government continues to lead efforts in digital transformation, positioning small businesses for sustained growth and success.
