By: Manoah Kikekon

Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, the commissioner for youth and social development, and the pioneer Real Acts of Kindness RAK Development Foundation, has distributed palliatives for women in Badagry to cushion the effects of the economic hardship.

The palliative was distributed on Sunday at Ibereko Badagry, Lagos State, where the commissioner said women are important in our society.

Ogunlende said, "I tend to resonate a lot with women; they're very important in all we do. They are the strong pillar of every family, so I tend to have a sensitive passion towards women."

The palliative was distributed to women from the three local governments in Badagry, which was represented by the Apex APC women leader, APC ward women leader, market women, and religious body representatives irrespective of background, race, or culture.

"The intentions and ideology behind it is to see how we can continue to give succour to our people in our local government, and of course there's no other way to do it than through our mother and sisters." Ogunlende said

The palliative comprises 1500 2kg bags of beans and garri the previous palliative Ogunlende shared was 2,950 packs of rice. The distribution will be done through the women's group leader.

I believe by the time we handed it over to them, they know how to distribute it. Again, the intention is to be able to give it to those who do not have food to eat.

Ogunlende commended the efforts of Badagry women in politics said he supports their active participation in the coming 2025 chairmanship election.

"This is a very good gesture that I support, and it's not just only women, but also for the youth. It's time to rise up for the occasion, its time to exhibit the qualities we have as youth and as women. This is something I want to support, and I want everyone to rise to the occasion."

Ogunlende, who had also fed 300 people during the just concluded Ramadan, said it had huge financial implications.

"It's got a lot of financial implications, but I tend not to think about it because I believe if i start thinking about it, I may be discouraged," he added.

Gafar Meyon Muritala, APC chairman Badagry, said, "in fact, RAK can't stop amazing me, he kept on making people happy, and he is one of our ambassadors that we will continue to support anytime he seeks assistance because he has kept on doing good in the party as much as he can. Go to town and ask about RAK Ogunlende everywhere, not because of anything but the willingness to give."

Mrs. Sewede Port-Balogun Olorunfemi, the woman leader RAK political unit, said, "this is one of the largest palliative distributions he has been doing. Even the federal and local governments are providing palliatives, as women are the breadwinners of many homes. Women are out there who have to take care of the family alone. We have single mothers too, so many women are facing challenges, so women need to be concentrated on when it comes to palliatives, and I commend Ogunlende for that."

Atoyebi Olayinka Fausat APC woman leader Badagry Federation, said, "Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, has come home to make the community people happy once again. It has brought laughter to households in Badagry, as we are taking it home now to share with the people at home as we are just the representatives of the people."

Mrs. Mojisola Adeshina, APC woman lead, said, Ogunlende is a person who has the impact of loving women, from the inception, he has been good to the women. This should be continuous exercise, and I know RAK will do it. Women will not do otherwise, and it will definitely get to where it's supposed to get to."
