Emmanuel Orekoya, a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has been charged with allegedly raping and impregnating his 17-year-old daughter.
On Tuesday, the defendant was arraigned in the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court.
The Lagos State Government charged the suspect with two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and sexual assault.
According to the state's prosecution counsel, Abimbola Abolade, the defendant committed the offences in 2017 on Jacob Adeleye Street in Odoeran, Itire.
She also stated that the suspect sexually assaulted the victim by inserting his finger into her vagina and his penis into her mouth.
She stated that Orekoya's offences violated Section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges, prompting Justice Soladoye to adjourn the case until April 17, 2024, when the trial will begin.
