President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ali Nuhu, an acclaimed Nollywood actor, and ten others as new heads of agencies within the federal ministry of art, culture, and creative economy.
Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to the President on media and publicity, made the statement on Friday in Abuja.
He stated that Mr Tinubu charged the new appointees to carry out their duties with the highest levels of professionalism, diligence, and patriotism.
Ali Nuhu, Managing Director of Nigerian Film Corporation; Tola Akerele, Director-General of National Theatre; and Dr. Shaibu Husseini, Director-General of the National Films and Censors Board, have been appointed.
Obi Asika, Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture; Aisha Adamu Augie, Director-General of the Centre for Black and African Arts and Culture; and Ekpolador-Ebi Koinyan, Chief Conservator at the National War Museum, have also been appointed.
Other appointments include Ahmed Sodangi, Director-General of the National Gallery of Art; Chaliya Shagaya, Director-General of the National Institute of Archaeology and Museum Studies; and Khaltume Bulama Gana, Artistic Director of the National Troupe of Nigeria.
The others are Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, Director-General of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation, and Ramatu Abonbo Mohammed, Director-General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments.
