Toviho Monday and Aivoji Phillip |
Toviho Olayemi Monday, the former People Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives Aspirant for Badagry Constituency has condemned the kidnapping of the PDP Chairman, Hon. Aivoji Phillip, and some other party leaders of PDP Lagos State.
Toviho disclosed this to News Peddlers in a chat on Saturday. The party chairman was kidnapped on Thursday by 6pm with some other leaders of the party on their way from a meeting held in Ibadan.
In his speech, he said, "I absolutely condemn the reprehensible abduction of Lagos State PDP chairman Hon. Aivoji Phillip and other party leaders on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Such acts of violence and criminality have no place in any society, and the safety and security of all individuals must be upheld and protected."
Toviho has called on the security operatives to prioritize the swift and safe release of the victims and requested the current administration beef-up the security architecture of the nation to guarantee the safety of the citizens.
"I call on the Nigerian police and all relevant security agencies to prioritize the swift and safe release of Hon. Aivoji and others. It is imperative that every effort be made to ensure the security and well-being of all citizens, regardless of their political affiliations.
"I urge the authorities to mobilize all available resources, including intelligence gathering and collaborative efforts, to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice. Additionally, measures should be taken to enhance security along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and other vulnerable areas all over Nigeria to prevent similar incidents," Toviho added.
