Aivoji: Kidnapped Lagos PDP chairman regains freedom

Philip Aivoji, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos State chapter, has been released after being kidnapped by unidentified gunmen on the Lagos-Ibadan  expressway 


Aivoji was released four days after being abducted on Thursday.


Aivoji and other party leaders were kidnapped on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Thursday while returning from the party's Stakeholders' Zonal Caucus meeting, which was convened by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan, the state capital.


His release was announced by State Publicity Secretary Hakeem Amode in a brief statement issued around 1.15 a.m. on Monday.

Amode stated, "The kidnappers released the Lagos State PDP Chairman.


Hon Philip Olabode Aivoji the Lagos State PDP Chairman is free at last after 4days in the kidnappers’ den.


“We use this opportunity to appreciate your prayers most importantly because God’s mercies was visible all the way.


“Thank you all for your concerns and prayers.”
