Hamas Terrorism: Israel asks US for $10 billion in emergency aid

Israel has requested $10 billion in emergency aid from the United States as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict escalates. According to the New York Times.

According to the publication, the White House is drafting an aid package for Israel that will also include aid to Ukraine, cash to bolster the US-Mexico border, and aid to Taiwan.

On Sunday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that the US was examining Israel's request for further military aid to carry out its operation in Gaza.

On Tuesday, White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby stated that US President Joe Biden would receive an update from Israeli authorities on their strategy against Hamas in Gaza, particularly the tempo of their military operations, during his visit to Israel slated for Wednesday.

A US official told Sputnik last week that Washington had not decided whether to include help for Ukraine and Taiwan in a supplemental financing request for Israel that it was prepared to submit to Congress.

US Army Secretary Christine Wormuth stated that the US military will require additional funding from Congress to provide security assistance to both Ukraine and Israel at the same time.

On October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas launched an unexpected attack on Israel, sparking retaliatory strikes on Gaza.

Thousands of people have died and been injured on both sides of the battle.
