As we approach the 2025 local government elections in Lagos State, the people of Lagos Island local government are setting their minds and whispering to express franchise for the right man to replicate the national agenda of Renewed Hope for grassroots governance.
This writer has the belief that local democracy is important for local development. A grassroots politician who is well-connected with the people's hearts is the present Executive Vice Chairman, Lagos Island local government, Prince Muhammed Rosul Eshilokun.
The man, Rosul Eshilokun, who is well qualified and experienced in both legislative and executive leadership positions, will unlock new development in our grassroots democracy for the greatest number of people in Lagos Island in Renewed Hope 2025.
Rosul Eshilokun, who has worked closely with three previous chairmen since 1999 till date, Lagos Island local government Hon. Lookman Ajose, Hon. Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun, and Hon. Prince Tijani Adetoyese Olusi in different capacities.
Understanding grassroots governance and the challenges facing the premier of Island, confronting residents, Rosul Eshilokun has decided to draft a blueprint's manifesto for his administration if elected as the next council chairman in 2025. His programme tagged Technology, Health, Education, Environment, Security (T.H.E.E.S).
To make Lagos lsland reposition itself, a leading premier local government's 21st-century grassroots developmental strides were reviewed in his carefully thought-out manifesto's priorities blueprints. When I visited him recently in his office, we had many convincing discussions on how he intends to use "community-renewed participatory engagement” to drive human developmental goals and prosperity of lslanders.
Today, Rosul Eshilokun is regarded as one of the most recognised, well-groomed, and intelligent men who can unlock the politics of reform in Lagos Island local council that people yearn for.
With empirical facts, the issues seen and heard in the streets of Lagos Island are simple and germane, which is about issues and not individuals. The issue is: Who is experienced enough and possesses the brain and charisma to unlock the greatest opportunity for the greatest number of people in Island politics? The answer is simple: Prince Muhammad Rosul Eshilokun.
Rosul Eshilokun, if he assumes office as the next Executive Chairman of Lagos Island local government, is expected to invest in and re-engineer social amenities that will improve the quality of life at the grassroots level.
The priority is entrepreneurship with 21st century digital skills, redeveloped primary health centres, and also to provide universal primary education with standard equipment. To keep the young ones off the streets, with recreational centres to boost community engagement.
Rosul Eshilokun's brain is already a library of policies and vision of Renewed Hope implementation templates on what needs to be done urgently on reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads, environmental degradation, security, and transportation roadmaps on the streets of the lsland.
Rosul Eshilokun is the politician who has consistently accepted to make things work for the people of Lagos Island. Our leaders must rise to the man who fits the cap.
