The ex-militant, General Omotuwa Job has called on stakeholders in the maritime sector to support the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, so as to record a considerable success in the newly created ministry.
The General Job, who established Steve Latcon Security Services in charge of waterways security, made this known yesterday in a press conference in Abuja.
"The ministry of marine and blue economy is a new agency expected to work with the Nigerian Port Authority, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, and the Nigerian Shippers Council, among others."
According to him, the support of stakeholders and the safety of the waterways became paramount, even as he expressed the unalloyed support of the ministry.
General Omotuwa Job expressed satisfaction on the appointment of Mr. Oyetola as the pioneer minister in the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.
With Oyetola's rich pedigree in public service, governance, and unflinching commitment to excellent performance, he will reposition the country's maritime sector for optimal performance.
The Ministry has come on stream to harness the great economic fortune and potential in the sector, which is capable of giving a humongous revenue inflow and achieving the federal government's economic diversification agenda and job creation for the teeming Nigerian youth, General Job said.
"Steve Latcon Security Services is ready to collaborate with the ministry to secure the waterways for all and sundry."
While thanking President Bola Tinubu for acceding to the request of the operators in the maritime sector and appointing Oyetola as the Minister.
