Prof. Isa Pantami, former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, has urged more wealthy people to help the less fortunate in society to improve their level of living.
Mr Pantami made the call while officiating at the Fatiha of Muhammad Oyanki, member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Doma North Constituency, and his bride, Rukaiya Shehu, on Friday at Annur Mosque in Abuja.
After a N100,000 dowry and the presentation of medical documents, the former minister and an Islamic cleric tied the knot.
He also asked Nigerians to pray fervently for God to intervene in the country's problems.
He prayed to God to generously bless the new couple's marriage.
The cleric congratulated Oyanki and his wife, advising them to demonstrate love, patience, understanding, and tolerance, among other qualities, in order for their marriage to succeed.
The groom afterward thanked God for making their dream come true.
The legislator thanked everyone who came to witness the wedding and prayed to God to provide them safe travels to their varied locations and to reward them appropriately.
Furthermore, Oyanki pledged his constituents of greater and more effective representation in the state assembly.
The Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Abel Bala, led other colleagues to the occasion.
The event's visitors were entertained by praise singers.
