Ogu General Assembly awards bursary to 41 Students

The Ogu General Assembly(OGA) has awarded bursaries and endowments to forty-one indigent students from various institutions of higher learning, as part of an annual awards programme aimed at boosting intellectual and academic performance among Ogu undergraduates from Ogun and Lagos States.


The  Chairman Education Committee, Dr Matthew Wheto, said this in a statement following the assembly's meeting in Jofin, Ipokia local government area of Ogun State, and announced the names of the Winners.

According to the statement, this year's bursaries were highly competitive, the various bursary categories include JJ Hunsa (Creative Arts), Vittu Dosa (Management Studies), Steve Suurulere Saheed Foundation (Sciences), Prof Segun Whenu (Fisheries and Hydrobiology), Rosaline Fasanya (Law), Viyon Awhanse MyBadagry MyFuture (Film and Communication Studies), Jossou (Engineer


The Convener of the Ogu General Assembly, Professor Jendele Hungbo, stated that great education is the best legacy that can be left to the youths and that the Ogu General Assembly is committed to the advancement of all Ogu, particularly the youth.


The convener charged the beneficiaries with making wise use of opportunities and thanked all the sponsors of the various endowments as well as all members of the Ogu General Assembly (OGA) for pooling their resources to help the younger generation in their academic pursuits.


The statement made available to journalists, stated that the bursary prizes, which range from N50,000 to N100,000 each, will be awarded to the winners at the Assembly's next meeting.
