Emma Eneukwu, deputy national chairman (South) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Nigerians to recognise President Bola Tinubu's willingness to make sacrifices for the greater good.
"The spirit of willingness to sacrifice as exhibited by President Tinubu is for the overall interest of the country," Mr Eneukwu said in his Eid-el-Kabir message to Nigerians on Wednesday in Enugu.
As we all know, this event is used to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham's) willingness to sacrifice his sons as an act of obedience to God's command. It is a time when togetherness, love, sacrifice, and commitment to unity are always observed, and I am delighted to celebrate with my Muslim brothers, friends, and associates this year."
Mr. Eneukwu urged Nigerians to "inculcate the spirit of unity by using this period to reflect on the importance of having a united Nigeria, where the country's interests would always top our priorities."
According to him, the country now has a president who is constantly committed to fostering policies that will foster progress and prosperity for all Nigerians in various fields of human endeavour.
"We have a president who is fired up to build on the progress made by his predecessor and to work tirelessly to make our dear nation a habitable and prosperous place for all," he said.
Mr Eneukwu assured Nigerians that they would never regret supporting the ruling APC and all of its candidates across the country, particularly Mr Tinubu, in the 2023 general elections.
"This great and timely decision will turn out to be the best decision we have ever made as a nation," he said emphatically.
