On Saturday, thugs in Kano's Alasawa Kwaciri Ward 030, Kurna Gabas, Fagge Local Government Area, disrupted polling with cudgels and other hazardous weapons.
The thugs violently dispersed hundreds of people who showed up to exercise their right to vote.
Police officers had to step in to drive the thugs away and get things back to normal in order for the voting process to proceed.
The supplemental election was planned by INEC to take place after the state constituency election in Fagge LG on March 18.
In 24 of the federation's states, supplementary elections are also taking place in the affected constituencies.
