Stop Chasing Shadows: APC Blast PDP

BY: News Peddlers

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council mocked the Peoples Democratic Party's flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, and his campaign team of chasing shadows on Sunday night.

The APC campaign team's statement was in response to the scathing allegation made by Atiku's Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu.

Shaibu had accused the APC's presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, of having "many things to hide by avoiding debates, nonpartisan town hall meetings, and live interviews."

He went on to say Tinubu built his entire life and persona on lies, which is why he continues to run all over the place.

The APC, on the other hand, responded in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by Bayo Onanuga, the Director of Media and Publicity for Tinubu-Shettima Campaign Council.

Onanuga stated that Atiku's camp is nervous and has resorted to clout chasing as it becomes clear that Tinubu will easily win the February 25 election.

"Our attention has been drawn to a statement by one Phrank Shaibu, an Atiku Abubakar special media assistant whose specialty appears to be muckraking," the statement said.

"In another puerile move, Shuaibu challenged our candidate to give his full name and went on a journey of fantasy about his early education and parentage, matters already thrown into the dustbin decades ago.

"We were not surprised that the desperate Atiku camp, facing mounting setbacks in its campaign, would engage in another round of mudslinging after failing to capitalise on its amplified allegation of drug dealing against our candidate.

"We must say that this latest allegation is another attempt at shadowboxing. Having failed to deceive Nigerians over its 16 years of infamous, criminal sabotage of our fatherland, in which Atiku oversaw the privatisation of our national assets and shortchanged our people.

"The PDP has only recently realised that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's certain victory in the presidential election on February 25, 2023 is, unavoidable, hence the desperate resort to character assassination and innuendoes," he added.
