According to the Nigerian embassy in Moscow, 107 Nigerian students have received scholarships to study at Russian universities under the Nigeria-Russia Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA).

This was announced in a press release on Friday.

The Nigerian ambassador to Russia, Abdullahi Shehu, welcomed the scholars at the airport and stated that the programmes would strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and facilitate knowledge and technology transfer to Nigeria.

Mr. Shehu stated that the opportunity for Nigerian students to study on scholarships at various Russian universities represents a successful educational cooperation between Nigeria and Russia.

The ambassador expressed the Nigerian embassy's support for the student and urged them to be good citizens.

"I congratulate you, and I wish you the best of luck in your studies," Mr Shehu added. In terms of passport renewal, whenever your passport is due to expire in nine months, you should contact us so that we can book you."

According to the ambassador, Russia "is safe and secure, but you must behave yourself." Know what kind of company you want to keep."

Mr Shehu advised the students to spend their stipend wisely.

"You must protect yourself because it is extremely cold." Avoid being exposed to the cold. "You must understand that you are starting to build your future from here, and what you achieve from here will help you to live a very good life and will help you to build yourself and our country," the ambassador explained.

"The most important thing I will like you to demonstrate is absolute patriotism," he added. You should consider yourselves Nigerian ambassadors in Russia. Whatever you do will reflect on the country's character. As a result, you must project a positive image."
