BREAKING: Police Arrest Two Female Students for Beating Teacher

 BY: News Peddlers

Two female students from Adesuwa Secondary School in Benin have been arrested by the Edo police command for allegedly assaulting a teacher.

In a statement issued on Friday in Benin, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the command's Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest.

According to Mr Nwabuzor, preliminary investigations revealed that the students were the primary suspects in the Thursday unrest at the all-girls school.

"The students were dissatisfied with disciplinary measures taken against some students during an English Language class by a female teacher at the school," he explained.

Mr Nwabuzor stated that the State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dankwara, had assured the public, particularly parents and guardians of students at the school, that there was no need for concern because normalcy had been restored.

"He advised parents and guardians of those students who were involved in the agitation to submit their children/wards," Mr Nwabuzor added.

The police spokesman also stated that the CP had directed the Divisional Police Officer Aduwawa Division to transfer the case file to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Benin, after the preliminary investigation was completed, for further investigation.
