2023 Election: Think about your Future, Vote Credible Candidate - Kumuyi

BY: News Peddlers

Pastor William Kumuyi, the Founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has advised voters across the country to think about their future and vote for credible candidates in the 2023 elections.

Kumuyi gave the advice to newsmen in Rivers State's Khana Local Government Area, ahead of the Deeper Life Bible Church's week-long crusade in the area.

The Birabi Memorial Grammar School in Bori will host a global crusade themed 'Supernatural freedom through Christ.'

Punch reports that the cleric urged those in positions of power to be fair to voters and follow democratic principles in order to be at peace with themselves and the people.

"Our future is in our hands, that is why we have democracy, and that is why we were given the opportunity to know our candidates, both at the local government, state, and federation levels," Kumuyi said.

"And since we want the best and have been dreaming and expecting the best for our country, it's in our best interests to talk to ourselves and be at peace, so that we can have a peaceful and fair election."

The respected cleric emphasized the importance of a peaceful environment that allows electorates to freely choose those they want to lead them, while also emphasizing the importance of the country remaining united.

"We must give everyone the opportunity to freely elect the person he believes will do the best for our community and our country. So, I will say that we should maintain the country's unity and peace, and strive to hold the election in a peaceful environment.

"We should pray to God for the best leaders to lead our country out of whatever challenges we face and into greater blessings for our country."

He explained that the global crusade was organized to pray for the country's peace.

Kumuyi described the flooding that has ravaged several communities and displaced thousands in various parts of the country as a serious problem and expressed sympathy to those affected.

"It is a very serious problem, and we identify with and sympathize with all those affected by the flood."

"However, Mr. President has given orders to all the various authorities in charge of handling the flood crises to provide a solution within the next 90 days, and I pray that God will give all those in charge, technically and politically, the wisdom and know-how to prevent such things from happening again in the future."

"What has happened has already happened, and then the Federal Government and all well-meaning people should rise up to see how they can help those who have been devastated by the flood," Kumuyi added.

Prominent stakeholder and leader in Ogoni land.

Speaking to journalists, Hon. Dumnamene Dekor, the member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, expressed delight that the crusade would have a positive impact on Ogoni land, which has been plagued by cult activities.

"I feel fulfilled and happy to receive him in Ogoni land, especially because this land has been in crisis, a lot of killings have been carried out here over the years due to cult activities," Dekor said.
