Reno Omokri, aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has attacked Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi over an alleged link to corruption in the Pandora Papers.
Omokri, in a tweet on Wednesday via his verified Twitter handle, questioned why Obi supporters believe the Labour Party's flag bearer is a better candidate for Nigerians in 2023.
"You guys keep saying Obi is the best candidate," he tweeted. By what criterion? In terms of education, he lags behind Atiku (Bachelor versus Masters). Atiku is far more successful in business! In terms of corruption, Obi was listed in the Pandora Papers, but Atiku was not. Obi is superior by what yardstick?"
Omokri also discussed the educational backgrounds of the three front-runner presidential candidates: Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
"Peter Obi's highest qualification, according to INEC, is a Bachelor degree," he says in a tweet about the presidential candidates. "According to INEC, Tinubu's highest qualification is a Bachelor's degree. According to INEC, Atiku's highest qualification is a master's degree."
Omokri concluded his tweet by encouraging Nigerians to "do the math and vote wisely in 2023!"
Remember that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has published the names of eighteen candidates vying for the presidency of Nigeria.
The commission named Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi, among others, as presidential candidates for the upcoming 2023 election.
The presidential candidates list was included in a circular released by the electoral body on Tuesday, which included the candidates' origin, age, and other information.
