At least five others were said to have been injured in the tragic incident at Iyana Oworo, near the Third Mainland Bridge.
The victims included four females, two male adults, and one male child.
According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the ill-fated bus with registration number KJA 699 GY carried 14 passengers.
The driver had some burns, according to Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA.
He went on to say that three female adults involved in the incident were rushed to Gbagada General Hospital and that a male adult was treated at the scene by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS).
"LASTMA officials on the scene have made plans to remove the burned-out vehicle from the road," Oke-Osanyintolu said.
