| Donkey genitals intercepted at Lagos airport |
The Nigeria Customs Services (NCS), Murtala Mohammed International Airport Cargo Command of Lagos State has seized about 7,000 pieces of male donkey genitals.
The shipment is being smuggled from Nigeria to China, Hong Kong.
Sambo Dangaladima, the Customs' Area Controller, who displayed approximately 16 sacks of the donkey genitals, estimated the consignment's duty-paid value to be N216,212,813.
According to Dangaladima, the strong aroma coming from the bags caught the attention of the customs officers.
"The importers misrepresented the items by calling them cow genitals. They were donkey genitalia, my export officers found after thorough examination. This type of item is being seized for the first time. We won't permit such illegal wildlife trade to flourish under our supervision," he stated.
