The All Progressives Congress APC Presidential Campaign Council has postponed the launch of its campaigns, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday.
Simon Lalong, Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council and Governor of Plateau State, announced this in a statement on Tuesday, Vanguard reports.
According to him, the timetable and schedule of activities have been adjusted to accommodate the growing interest shown by various political tendencies in being a party of the campaign council.
He stated that a new date for the start would be announced soon.
"Recall that we had previously earmarked a peace walk and prayers for Wednesday, September 28, 2022, to officially kick-off our campaigns for the 2023 Presidential Elections," the statement said. We had also announced that members of the Campaign Council would report to Campaign Headquarters on that day to pick up their letters of appointment.
"However, due to the list's expansion to include more stakeholders and interests within the APC family, we have decided to adjust the timetable of these activities to ensure everyone is on board before activities officially begin." As a result, the previously announced activities for September 28th will no longer take place.
"As Nigeria's ruling and most appealing party, we understand the sacrifices and understanding of our thronging members who are more than willing to volunteer for this great task ahead." It also demonstrates the overwhelming support our party members have for our candidates.
"A new date and schedule of events will be announced shortly."
