Hon. Solomon Bonu, former Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, and APC Candidate in the 2023 House of Assembly, Badagry Constituency 1 election, has kept the promises he made to a trader, Alhaja Abolore Kadri.
Kadri approached him for assistance during an entrepreneurs event he attended earlier in July 2022.
Hon. Bonu stated that the trader had requested assistance in restocking her shop. Adding that he wondered how many other petty traders in Badagry were in the same situation, so he decided to form a team of ambassadors across the various wards in his constituency with the goal of identifying petty traders who require little assistance for their businesses to recover.
According to a report by Bonu Helping Hands Ambassadors, the Initiative's drivers, the meeting gave birth to the BONU Helping Hand Initiative (BHHI).
According to the report, the "BONU Helping Hands Initiative began operations by replenishing Alhaja Abolore Kadri's shop at Sango-Ile dudu with products worth 200k."
