The Director of Lagos State University JUPEB campus in Badagry, Prof. Yunus Dauda led a team of staff on a courtesy visit to the Badagry Local government chairman Hon. Segun Onilude.

The team visited the chairman on Thursday to appreciate the support of the chairman to the institution, and also to solicit for more support.

Prof. Dauda in his address said “in the name of the vice chancellor of LASU Prof Ibiyemi Olatunji-Belo, we are here to appreciate the entire Badagry Local government for the support to the institution.

“One thing I admire about the local government chairman is his simplicity, there was a time we had some challenges, he attended to us immediately. Which proved all I have heard about him wrong and this means if we have people like this at the helm of affairs this country will move forward.

“What I saw in the chairman, is not what is commonly seen in politicians today, which is why we are here,” he said.

Hon. Onilude said “I also appreciate you for coming in person, some would have just done this on paper. One of the reasons why we are here is to solve problems and since LASU foundation is part of my constituency when there are problems we should be concerned, which is the reason why we have been playing our role.

“When anyone comes around with a problem we have to listen, if we can’t solve it we should proffer some solutions, we will continue to work together so long as you require our services.

“I personally have a relationship with LASU where I did two Masters degrees (MBA and Educational management), I can’t rule out LASU in me and because it is our state university, we need to show concern about it,” he said.

“We appreciate your support and as a politician I know you are eyeing a higher post and God will make it possible” Dr Akingbade Waidi, the assistant director said.

Prof. Dauda further said, “the institution has tried several times to acquire a macopolo bus for the students but due to various constraints we have not, we will appreciate if the chairman can help through any means.”

Dr Gbemisola Saibu the Deputy Director, applauding the chairman said “please don’t relent on your efforts, even if you are doing good to people they may not appreciate it but God will surely reward you.

“As the director has said the major challenge now is transporting our students to the campus which we believe you can assist us,” she said.

The team also presented a gift to the chairman in appreciation of his support.
