BREAKING: Gunmen attacked Kaduna airport leaving one dead

Armed bandit had attacked Kaduna international airport by Saturday afternoon, breaching the security which led to the death of one aviation security guard.

It was reported by People Gazette that the incident happened few minutes after midday, when the armed men forced themselves through the security opening on workers and passengers.

An eyewitness said, “We’ve identified a security worker that was killed as Shehu Na’Allah,” the source said under anonymity because they didn’t have authority to do press interviews about the incident. “We have everything under control now but many people were wounded and some flights were unable to depart.”
 

Security personnel were later deployed to control the situation, Kaduna airport became the main international airport in the north since 2016 after the closure of Abuja airport.


All efforts to speak with Kaduna police department immediately after the attack proved abortive. Meanwhile an airport management official declined comments. The attack today is the second time gunmen had successfully attacked the airport breaching all security perimeters. 


An attack on the airport staff quarters on March 6, 2021 led to the adoption of some Nigerians who were rescued by security forces some weeks after.


Kaduna state remained one of the most affected in the north western region of Nigeria since the armed bandit insurgent which has barely been controlled leading to the death of thousands gang members in the combat with the security personnel.
