Update on the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
The number of countries where Omicron, the new variant of COVID-19, had now increased to 22, including Nigeria.
Since the virus had been first discovered on November 24, it had kept spreading to continents of the world.
Earlier this week World Health Organisation (WHO) raised an alarm on the global spread of Omicron, where WHO told her 194 member states to improve the delivery of the vaccinations to places of higher risk.
No body is recorded to have died from Omicron, meanwhile researchers are making sure the vaccine can fight the variant. WHO said.
The countries that had recorded Omicron are:
Austria, Australia, Nigeria, Belgium, Botswana, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, Israel, Reunion, South Africa, Portugal, Sweden, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and Switzerland.
