BREAKING: MTN begins business and ICT training for youths

MTN foundation in partnership with some Tech. Companies begin application for Business Skills Training and Information and Communication Technology programme for Nigerian youth.

The purpose is to improve youth’s entrepreneurial skills and ICT capabilities.

Interested Nigerian youths between the age of 18 and 35 are expected to apply, where they will be trained on managing Micro, Small Medium Enterprise(MSME) and ICT courses.

It will award successful participants equipment grants to start up their businesses. The training is in partner with various Tech. giant industries like Cisco and IBM, Digital Bridge Institute, Microsoft, Oracle and KPMG. Where participants will various ICT courses and how it can be applied in their businesses 

The foundation mentioned various Nigeria States that had benefited form this scheme, which are Borno State, Nasarawa State, Akwa Ibom State, Imo state, Katsina State, Kaduna state, Kano state, Oyo state, and Rivers state.

“This is the fifth edition of the programme. The fifth phase is planned for young entrepreneurs who live and operate small businesses in Adamawa, Anambra, Cross River, Jigawa, Kogi and Lagos State". The foundation said.

 Several participants of previous editions are doing very well now in their own businesses.

The application started on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, and will close December 20 2021. Interested applicants should visit https://www.mtnonline.com/MTNF-ICT to fill the form as soon as possible.

Speaking on the objectives of the programme it further said, “The MTNF ICT and Business Skills Training is aim at achieving Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2, 4, 8, and 9, namely No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Reduced Inequalities, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Industry Innovation and Infrastructure. It is a catalyst for not only personal development but also economic improvement,”
