 By: News Peddlers

The Governor of Taraba state has sent warnings to any traditional ruler in his state who will support terrorism in his state. He said such a ruler will be dethroned. He urged all the traditional rulers to be very vigilant and not to allow evil doers to settle in their domain.

The Governor made this known to the public on Thursday, when he was signing 2022 budget at the state capital Jalingo. Where he raised the alarm on the plan of some terrorists to create settlement in his state.

Ishaku said he had delayed the signing of the budget until Thursday because of security challenges. “My delay of coming to sign the 2022 budget and address you is because of security challenges,”

“Boko Haram and Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) are trying to set up camps in this state and that is why we had an emergency meeting for over an hour before my coming. Ishaku said.

He made it known that the traditional rulers in the state that had been cooperating with the terrorist groups have compromised the security of the state. “It is very sad that the traditional rulers are bent on encouraging this insecurity”.

The governor sent a strong warning to the traditional rulers, laying emphasis on, he will not tolerate nor waste time to dethrone any traditional ruler found sponsoring terrorism.

He made it clear that the people should not take his kindness and softness for granted because he can sometimes be decisive. “Being quiet and gentle does not make me a mere footstalk to be rubbished.”

Ishaku further clarified that his state being the most quiet in North-East region is not a sign of weakness, and taking it for granted will involve serious implications. Adding the security of the state is a dominant concern to everyone.

In the Governor’s address he said despite him warning the traditional rulers, they have not been abiding by it which is giving him serious concern. And that this time he is not ready to take chances.

“I am assuring the people of Taraba that the budget would revive the economy of Taraba and make it one of the best, not only in the North-East but in Nigeria at large”, he said.
