NIGERIA – With the clock ticking toward the October 30, 2026, grand finale, the organizers of the Geneith Health Competition (GHC) have issued a rallying cry to students across the country to intensify their preparations. The initiative, which is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of youth-led health advocacy in Africa, aims to arm the next generation with the knowledge and tools to combat malaria.
The competition is spearheaded by the MD of CEOAFRICA, Prince Cletus Sunday Iloabanafor, and sponsored by Chief Emmanuel Umenwa, Chairman of Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited. As the final weeks of study approach, the organizers are emphasizing that the path to the ₦1 billion prize package which includes scholarships, cash rewards, and specialized training is paved with disciplined research and critical thinking.
The GHC is more than a standard academic contest; it is a strategic movement endorsed by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. By integrating education with public health advocacy, the competition seeks to transform students into “Malaria Ambassadors” within their schools, homes, and wider communities.
"The Geneith Health Competition has grown into a powerful national movement," said Prince Iloabanafor. "The enthusiasm shown by students across Nigeria demonstrates that the next generation is prepared to become part of lasting healthcare solutions. By participating, you are helping to reshape Nigeria's healthcare future."
Malaria remains one of Nigeria’s most persistent public health threats, significantly impacting the potential of millions. Chief Emmanuel Umenwa noted that the competition is designed to leverage the digital skills and energy of Nigerian youth to drive sustainable change.
"The younger generation possesses the energy, innovation, and digital skills needed to drive sustainable change," Chief Umenwa stated. "This is your opportunity to become champions for healthier communities and build the healthier Nigeria we all desire."
With registration still open, organizers are urging students and school administrators to act quickly to ensure no eligible candidate is left behind.
