BADAGRY, LAGOS – As the global Muslim Ummah concludes the holy month of Ramadan, Hon. Padonu Ismail Sewedo, popularly known as PIS, a leading aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Badagry Constituency I (2027), has extended his warmest felicitations to constituents.
In a statement released by his media team on Friday, March 20, 2026, the aspiring lawmaker emphasized that the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr is not just an end to fasting, but a beginning of a renewed commitment to the spiritual and social virtues of Islam.
Hon. Sewedo highlighted the significance of the just-concluded 30-day journey of devotion. He described Ramadan as a sacred period that fosters self-discipline and reflection. "It is my prayer that the immense blessings and rewards of this holy month continue to guide, uplift, and inspire us in all our endeavors," he stated.
The aspirant prayed for the divine acceptance of the fasting, supplications, and acts of charity performed by the faithful. He expressed hope that the spiritual "recharge" experienced during the month would translate into lasting peace and prosperity for the people of Badagry and Lagos State at large.
Beyond the festivities, PIS urged the residents of Badagry Constituency I to carry the lessons of the month into their daily interactions. He specifically pointed to love, kindness, and harmonious coexistence as the pillars of a progressive society.
"These values, exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), should remain a guiding light in our daily lives," the statement read. Hon. Sewedo stressed that a community built on empathy and compassion is more resilient in the face of modern challenges.
One of the core tenets of Eid-ul-Fitr is Zakat al-Fitr, or giving to the needy. Hon. Sewedo used his message to remind constituents that the end of Ramadan should not mean the end of generosity. He encouraged those with means to continue extending a hand of fellowship to the vulnerable members of society.
By prioritizing care for the less privileged, the aspirant believes that the community can strengthen its internal bonds and create a more inclusive environment where "no one is left behind," echoing the broader goals of his 2027 vision.
As the 2027 electoral cycle approaches, the message from the PIS camp was also one of hope and political mobilization. He urged his supporters to "embrace the movement," positioning himself as a candidate dedicated to the collective progress of Badagry.
"May this blessed occasion bring joy to our homes, strengthen our unity, and usher in renewed hope for a brighter future," he added, concluding with a traditional greeting of "Eid Mubarak" to all families in the constituency.
The release of this message coincides with a period of increased grassroots engagement for the PIS movement. Supporters have lauded the aspirant’s consistent presence and his ability to connect with both the traditional and youth demographics of the ancient town.
