Badagry West, Lagos – The political landscape of Badagry West LCDA was energized this weekend as local leaders celebrated a significant administrative milestone while issuing a clarion call for future national elections. Hon. Bonu Solomon Saanu, the member representing Badagry Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, publicly lauded the Executive Chairman, Hon. Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren (RIKAY), for an impactful first 100 days in office, urging unified support for the chairman’s vision and immediate action on voter registration.
The grand finale of the celebration, held at the proposed Apa-Ganyingbo Stadium, served as both a progress report and a political rally. Hon. Bonu commended Chairman RIKAY for a start marked by tangible projects and serious governance. "He has hit the ground running with initiatives that speak directly to our community's needs," Bonu stated, highlighting the administration's focus on development aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Key projects inaugurated during this period include the foundation for a 500-capacity Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre in Ganyingbo and a modern Primary Health Centre in the strategic border community of Asheri. Bonu expressed confidence that these and other planned projects would be completed and commissioned within the next six months, signaling a swift pace of delivery for the young administration.
Beyond infrastructure, the event, themed "100 Days of Renewed Hope, Action and Accountability," showcased a major grassroots empowerment drive. In a move celebrated by residents, Chairman RIKAY distributed critical business tools to artisans and small business owners. Beneficiaries received items ranging from motorcycles, welding machines, and grinding machines to tiling equipment, wheelchairs, and clippers with generators a direct intervention aimed at boosting household incomes and stimulating the local economy.
Shifting focus to the national stage, Hon. Bonu issued a strong appeal for voter preparedness. He urged all newly eligible voters and those with unresolved registration issues in Badagry West to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
"Secure your Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) now," he urged, framing it as a crucial step toward consolidating support for President Tinubu’s anticipated re-election bid in 2027. He also called on council management and staff to fully back Chairman RIKAY’s agenda, emphasizing that internal collaboration is essential for sustaining the current momentum.
